Professor, Department of Management, Entrepreneurship and Marketing
Dr. Prasad is Research Professor of Organization Studies and Chair of the Entrepreneurship and Leadership Research Group at Tecnologico de Monterrey's EGADE Business School. He is also currently serving as Co-chair of the Critical Management Studies division of the Academy of Management. He has previously taught courses in the MBA and the PhD programs and he has supervised, to completion, research students at the honors, master’s, and doctoral levels.
Dr. Prasad’s research interests broadly span the areas of entrepreneurship, gender and diversity issues in organizations, and interpretive methods. He is particularly interested in exploring each of these topics through various critical theoretical perspectives. As such, he has previously published articles using poststructuralist, postmodernist, feminist, postcolonial, neo-Marxist and psychoanalytic thought. He has published some 40 articles and chapters, including having made 20 contributions to Q1-listed journals. His research has appeared in Academy of Management Learning and Education, Advances in Consumer Research, Business & Society, Critical Perspectives on Accounting, Gender, Work and Organization, Human Relations, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, International Journal of Cross Cultural Management, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of Business Research, Management Learning, Organization, Scandinavian Journal of Management, Sex Roles, Work, Employment and Society and elsewhere. He has co-edited special issues of the Journal of Business Ethics and Critical Perspectives on International Business, and he currently serves on the editorial boards of Human Relations and International Journal of Entrepreneurial Behavior and Research. His first (edited) book was published by Emerald.
To date, Dr. Prasad is the recipient of approximately $15,000,000 (MXN) in research funding, including grants and awards from national funding bodies in three different countries: the British Academy (UK), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (Canada), and CONACYT (Mexico). At 31 years old, he was inducted as the youngest member of CONACYT’s SNI program with Level II status.
In October 2012, Dr. Prasad earned his PhD in organization studies from York University’s Schulich School of Business. He wrote much of my dissertation as a Graduate Research Fellow at Yale University. His PhD research was supported by a doctoral fellowship from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council and several other awards. Before arriving at EGADE Business School, he was Senior Lecturer at UNSW Business School (incorporating the AGSM). He has also held research positions at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Rutgers University.
