As part of the April–June 2017 Welcome Week, EGADE Business School, Monterrey opened its doors to art, inaugurating the “Reconnection” exhibition by the artist from Monterrey Eugenia Belden, on April 25.

A 10-piece art exhibition including paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Eugenia Belden, from Monterrey, kicked off the April–June 2017 quarter at EGADE Business School, Monterrey campus.

The show, set up in the Lobby, displays 10 works, including acrylic and oil paintings, lithographs, and black-and-white onyx and marble sculptures with the theme “the origin of life.”

The artist Eugenia Belden led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, along with Dr. Raquel Castaño González, the director of EGADE Business School, Monterrey; José Alberto Diosdado Delgado, the president of the EGADE Business School EXATEC Alumni Association; and Alma Rosa Olvera Flores, the founder of the Brillamont Institute and the exhibition rapporteur.

“We are very honored to have this exhibition here at our school. We are dedicating this area to art because, even though we train business leaders, we also believe that these leaders should have certain traits in common with the humanities, with art, with music, with literature, and in this case, with painting and sculpture. These leaders must be imaginative and empathetic, with sensibility and emotional intelligence, leaders who can connect and reconnect to life, to their surroundings, to what is going on, leaders who can transform themselves,” said Dr. Raquel Castaño González in her speech before the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The event was attended by guests, students, alumni, professors, and members of the EGADE Business School community, who admired the works and enjoyed a cocktail party.

The EGADE Business School, Monterrey Welcome Week also included the traditional Networking Breaks and the “Sustainability: The Only Way to Do Business” lecture by Nelson Núñez Vidal, the manager of Sustainability and Compliance at Minera Peñasquito, Goldcorp México.
