Ignacio de la Vega has been appointed Dean at the EGADE Business School at Tecnológico de Monterrey, following a competitive global search process. De la Vega succeeds previous Dean María de Lourdes Dieck Assad, who retired in December 2016.
De la Vega, a native of Spain, brings a wealth of global experience in entrepreneurship development, learning innovation and senior leadership in business education. He will take up his position at the School in early September, where he is charged with leading the transformation of Latin America´s leading graduate business school with a disruptive and innovative approach.

He will bring inspiring leadership to EGADE Business School, and contribute to our innovation in all business education at the institution.”

Prior to joining Tecnológico de Monterrey, De la Vega served as Managing Director at Babson Global, where was responsible for developing its international ecosystem, and new university projects and centers of entrepreneurship in Indonesia and Saudi Arabia. He participated in the launch of Mohammed Bin Salman College for Business and Entrepreneurship, a new private university that seeks to transform higher education in the Middle East, with the support of Babson College, Emaar Group, Lockheed Martin and Mohammad bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia.
De la Vega was previously Global Chief Learning Officer for the financial group BBVA, where he led the transformation of the corporate education model, impacting more than 110,000 employees across the group´s operations worldwide.
During almost twenty years of academic leadership at IE Business School, he served as Director of Strategy, Communication and Internationalization, led the Department of Entrepreneurship, and was the founding Director the pioneering IE Entrepreneurship Center.
For almost a decade, he served as President of The Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), the world´s foremost study of entrepreneurship, spanning 500 research collaborators, 300 academic institutions and 100 countries.
De la Vega is an active entrepreneur and investor and participates in several Boards of Directors. He is a regular media collaborator on entrepreneurship, business innovation and business education transformation.
Ignacio de la Vega obtained a Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship from IE University, a Master degree in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University, and a Law Degree (Magna Cum Laude) from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. He has completed advanced studies in executive education at Harvard Business School, Harvard Law School and Babson College.
