Within the framework of the 10th Anniversary of the Principles for Responsible Management Education, Dr. Consuelo García de la Torre received the PRME Pioneers award during a special reception held on July 18 in the Delegates Dining Room at the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
Dr. Consuelo García de la Torre has been distinguished as one of the leading champions of the growth and engagement of the Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) during its ten years of history.
The EGADE Business School professor obtained the recognition in the “Context Matters - Championing PRME Around the World” category, to form part of the select group of 19 people considered key drivers of the growth and engagement of PRME, an initiative of the UN Global Compact and over 650 business schools from around the world whose mission is to develop the responsible leaders of tomorrow and support the global effort to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
“I am very honored, but this recognition should be awarded not to me as an individual, but to the entire EGADE Business School, for the teamwork we have carried out to drive PRME,” said Dr. García de la Torre.
The awards ceremony formed part of the activity agenda of the 2017 Global Forum for Responsible Management Education — 10 Years of PRME, which brought together over 300 education leaders, including deans, university presidents, professors, researchers, business school accreditation bodies, and students, in addition to high level guests from the United Nations, the private sector, civil society, and the media, in plenary sessions held on July 18 and 19 at the Fordham University Lincoln Center Campus.
Dr. García de la Torre is a member of the Strategic Research Group on Social Innovation of EGADE Business School, a level-1 member of the Mexican National System of Researchers, and has been a representative of the PRME Regional Chapter for Latin America and the Caribbean.
